With an impressive alcohol content of 84.5%, this could be a bit much for some people to handle. However, if you are prepared to take a leap of faith, you will be rewarded richly for your bravery.

This is a rum that packs as much of a taste punch as it does alcohol. A refreshing glass of vanilla and raisin-laced iced tea may be made by adding the appropriate amount of water and then adding a generous amount of lime juice.

If you are not accustomed to drinking rum, overproof rum may appear to be extremely daunting. This is a bottle for the experienced drinker, or for the drinker who enjoys exploring different flavours and styles.

While downing drinks with an alcohol content of more than 56% has been a standard procedure for the Royal Navy for generations, this kind of drinking has not caught on in the social culture of the United Kingdom.

Sunset Rum Whoelsalers to the Trade

The aroma of this powerful rum is exactly what one would anticipate it to be: full of charred brown sugar and almond meal. On the tongue, the dryness is unsurprising, and vanilla and raisin predominate, followed by undertones of coconut and increasing amounts of dark brown sugar, ginger and white pepper as the flavour profile moves towards the end.

St. Vincent’s culture revolves around Sunset Very Strong Rum, which is consumed in a very particular manner on the island. The cocktail is made by the locals with only two components: half of a lime is squeezed into a tumbler, then a shot of Sunset Very Strong is added, and the remainder of the glass is filled with ice cold water.
